My external hard drive is running very slow. I store only movies and TV shows on my hard drive but recently when I try to play any movies, it takes about a minute or two for the media player to open. However, the drive is still working as I am able to transfer and download more movies to my external hard drive. Any suggestion

First of all, back up all the data that is on the drive before doing anything and losing all your data. What I would try is running a virus scan, update Windows as well as the media player that you are using and disk defragmentation and disk optimization. Let me know if this helps 🙂
