Have you made any OS updates on your Macbook? If so, updates to devices often cause the printer software to be reinstalled back into the system. You can directly download the drivers for your printer by visiting the 123.hp.com with the printer connected to your Mac to automatically detect the printer and download/install the drivers. You can directly install the drivers and overwrite the previous drivers and there is no need to uninstall the previous drivers. Hope it helps
